NOTICE TO RESIDENTS & BUSINESSES CONCERNING THE PROPOSED
BEAR ROAD & PARKING LOTS SURFACING PROJECT
The Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation are advising residents and businesses that the proposed Bear Road & Parking Lots Surfacing Project within the community of Georgina Island will be underway by Coco Paving Inc. commencing on or about July 27th, 2020.
General project works will include: fine grading and shaping of the areas, new granular A material, application of prime and double surface treatment along Bear Road for approximately 3.63 km’s and asphalt paving of the Ferry Terminal and Band Administration parking lots.
Activities by the contractor will occur between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday with the potential for extended working hours due to logistical coordination of the ferry transportation to/from the island at various times during paving and surface treatment operations.
Throughout the construction period, access along the roadways to residences and businesses within the community will be maintained although periodic delays may occur during surface treatment of Bear Road and paving of the Ferry Terminal and Band Administration parking lots. The proposed works are expected to be completed by end of August 2020.
All vehicles must be moved from Simcoe for the dates of August 4 – August 17. If the work is completed quicker than the anticipated schedule, we will notify the community.
We thank you for your patience and cooperation during this time.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned at

Sincerely,
